Evolve Pilates

COVID-19 Policies at Evolve Rehabilitation and Pilates

The Studio

Evolve has taken every precaution to make the facilities safe. Zoom mat classes are available for those who do not feel safe coming to the studio.

Cleaning: Evolve has used Lysol wipes to clean equipment and mats after every use since opening in 2006. In addition to the Lysol wipes, we now use CDC-approved PROTEX wipes and sprays to aid with cleaning the studio. We also supply hand sanitizer at the desk and near the door of the waiting room.

Additional Contact Surfaces: Reformers, Cadillacs, Wunda Chairs, and Avalon Arm chair/Small Barrel straps and handles now have Vinyl covers from Balanced Body in order to make disinfecting with wipes easier. Studio carpets and hardwood have been cleaned and treated with Microban. There are sanitation bins throughout the studio for small used equipment such as bands, balls, weights, etc. so that they will be sanitized before the next use.

Air: Two Medify medical-grade air purifiers with HEPA-13 filters remove airborne particles related to COVID-19. These purifiers cover 1600 square feet, protecting both the main room and the classroom.

Social distancing: Reformers are positioned diagonally more than 6 ft from head to head, so that class members are socially distanced during class. Mobile 8' x 8' plexishield separators create separate zones to accommodate multiple classes, to keep droplets from circulating in the whole room. The studio is split into 5 zones: 3 in the big room and 2 in the classroom. A 6' x 3' plexishield at the front of the reception desk with a small opening for transactions protects both parties.

Staff and Client Protocols

Staff: All staff members are vaccinated. They are required to wear masks (recommended: N95 or KN95) in the studio and wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer between sessions.

Clientele: All clients must wear masks (recommended: N95 or KN95) when in the studio, whether vaccinated or not. Clients should bring only essential belongings to the studio — wallets, keys, shoe wear and small purses — which must be stored in clean baskets provided by the studio; clients are to take the baskets with them to their class area. Evolve also recommends that all clients bring their own clean towels for sessions. However, if a client is unable to bring a towel, one will be provided. After a session, any towels supplied by Evolve should be placed in the plastic bin designated for used towels.

Covid-19 Guidelines
(per LA County Health Department as of 1/19/22)

These guidelines are not only to protect you but to protect others around you, especially those with compromised immune systems. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive for COVID: all instructors, clerical staff and clients should stay at home.

Symptoms of COVID-19 may include:

  • Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, fatigue, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Serious symptoms include difficulty breathing, pain or pressure in the chest, bluish lips or face, being confused or having difficulty waking up.

What to do if you suspect you have COVID-19: You must isolate for at LEAST 5 days. How long you have to isolate depends on whether you have symptoms and whether you get a negative follow-up viral test on day 5 or later. Note: Antigen tests are recommended because NAAT/PCR tests can stay positive even after you are no longer infectious.

Visit ph.lacounty.gov/covidcare to learn more about what to do if you are sick.

Ending isolation: The end of isolation depends on the following conditions:

After 5 days: If you have symptoms and test positive for COVID-19, ONLY if all of the following conditions are met:

  • A COVID-19 viral test collected on Day 5 or later is negative
  • No fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicine
  • Other symptoms are not present or are improving

After 10 days: Isolation can end if both these criteria are met:

  • No fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicine
  • Other symptoms are not present or are improving

For most people, if both of the above criteria are met, isolation can end after Day 10 even if follow-up COVID-19 viral tests are positive. However, people who have a condition that weakens their immune systems or who were severely ill with COVID-19 might need to stay home for longer.
